Service Description

A FREE drop-in group for clinicians interested in mindfulness meditation. Join us online to connect with others and practice together. Open to all, whether you are a complete beginner, use an app, have taken a course, or have years of experience, all are welcome. The well-publicised benefits of mindfulness include stress reduction, mood improvement and reduced anxiety but it can offer much more.  Either Dr James Fish, a GP in East Sussex, or Dr Gareth Knott, a Psychiatry trainee doctor in London will lead groups. The group will run to (roughly) this format: A quick hello Short sit for around 10 minutes Optional check-in - a chance to reflect on how we are feeling in the moment Longer sit for around 30 minutes - this may be a body scan or sitting meditation A chance to share any experiences - 10-20 minutes Optional informal chat afterwards for those who would like to stay ​ Feel free to sit (or lie) how you would like. Sensible options include a chair, meditation cushion or lying on the floor. We can accommodate any physical limitations, please let us know beforehand if you have any particular needs such as avoiding particular movements. Dates so far: Each session will last from 7:30 to 9 pm
